Legal Description of DCAO


1. The Divorce Coaches Association of Ontario (“DCAO”) is a provincially-incorporated not-for-profit professional association of Divorce Coaches. 
 
2. DCAO operates across Ontario with its headquarters in Toronto. 
 
3. DCAO has a maximum of 13 elected members of the Board of Directors. 
 
4. The Executive Committee consists of its chair, vice-chair, past chair, finance chair, secretary and at one member-at-large. The remaining elected members of the Board of Directors are members-at-large.
 
5. Volunteers do the work of DCAO including member benefits, certifications, complaints, training, advocacy, marketing, newsletter, operations and conferences.
 
6. DCAO develops and maintains the standards of practice, training and certification for Divorce Coaches in accordance with its Code of Ethics.
 
7. DCAO maintains a process for certification as a Divorce Coach.
 
8. DCAO offers opportunities and benefits to its members including education, designations, professional guidance, training, networking and professional liability insurance.
 
9. DCAO provides information and education to the public to enhance public awareness of the benefits and process of Divorce Coaching.
 
10. DCAO provides advocacy for the interests of its members.
 
11. DCAO investigates and resolves complaints made about DCAO members.
